Foods for person with no gallbladder

My internist, Dra. Joan Singidas, gave me this list before I underwent a gallbladder removal through lap chole (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) surgery. The list of foods to avoid and foods to include. She told me to just avoid the foods in the foods to avoid column and observe within one week if would experience again another gallstone attack. That was Sept. 15, 2009.

But 3 days later, my wife’s friend arrived from Manila and invited us for lunch. Food is served. Although I only ate seafoods; fish and shellfish that belong to foods to include, I was not spared with gallstone attack. I then realized that there is also one food under foods to avoid that gives flavor to one of my favorite, baked scallops – the butter. And maybe cheese and oil.

And 3 days after, I ended in the clinic of Dr. Don Edward Rosello (General & Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Surgical Endoscopy, Bariatric Surgery), to ask for his opinion. To which, I was scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedure last Oct. 1, 2009.

Constant burping in relation to no gallbladder

I’m now annoyed with the constant burping I am experiencing.

It is more frequent now than the days after my lap chole (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) surgery. After I got discharged from the Cebu Doctor’s Hospital, I experienced some burping and I just thought it was the remaining air that the doctors pumped into my stomach during removal of my gallbladder. I felt bloated for around 2 weeks after the procedure and the burping goes on. So I thought it was normal to have a frequent burping.

But those times, the gas came out not as often as today. Not as frequent as today that I burped almost every after 5 minutes. I tried to count how many burp I got for a day but lost track. I only noticed this constant burping after my hospitalization last December. And I only thought that it was due to medicines I was taking. Now that I am not taking any medications, I experienced this constant burping.

Diarrhea attack and no gallbladder

I read once an article that chronic diarrhea will likely to hit more on person without gallbladder, those that undergo gallbladder surgery either by open cholecystectomy or lap chole (laparoscopic cholecystectomy).

And yes, it is true.

Right after I was discharged from the hospital, I experienced stomach pain and diarrhea almost every morning – after breakfast.

This year, gladly the diarrhea occurred less. I only had one diarrhea last jan. 7, 2010. The next day, it was a fine day – no diarrhea attack. I hoped and thought that it will for good.
