I’m now annoyed with the constant burping I am experiencing.
It is more frequent now than the days after my lap chole (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) surgery. After I got discharged from the Cebu Doctor’s Hospital, I experienced some burping and I just thought it was the remaining air that the doctors pumped into my stomach during removal of my gallbladder. I felt bloated for around 2 weeks after the procedure and the burping goes on. So I thought it was normal to have a frequent burping.
But those times, the gas came out not as often as today. Not as frequent as today that I burped almost every after 5 minutes. I tried to count how many burp I got for a day but lost track. I only noticed this constant burping after my hospitalization last December. And I only thought that it was due to medicines I was taking. Now that I am not taking any medications, I experienced this constant burping.
I did some search about burping and there are a lot of possible causes. All are gastrointestinal. Of course it should be since the gas come from my stomach. I sorted them and came with some direct possibility; GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Dyspepsia, and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). But I can’t say which among the 3.
Or maybe because of my diet. I read that a person with removed gallbladder should eat more fiber-rich foods and less fats. But I recalled my doctor saying that I should recover after 3 months. And its more than 3 months now, 3 months and 15 days to be exact so I eat the regular meal less fatty foods. But I can’t say no to processed foods e.i. hotdog, corned beef, meat loaf because these are the affordable, easy and fast to prepare.
However, I am thinking of going to my doctor to clear this thing and maybe a medicine will be prescribed. On second thought, maybe not now. I am thinking of the ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) procedure that was cancelled because of no budget – no more coverage from insurance.
And yet this burping continues.
Thanks for helping out, excellent information.
